Hawkwind are a British space rock band from London, currently consisting front man Lord of Space Rock Dave Brock, ex-Gong synthesiser player Tim Blake on keys and Theremin, drummer Richard Chadwick, Mr Dibs on bass, Niall Hone on guitar, and Dead Fred.
Formed in 1969, Hawkwind are renowned for their unmissable and spectacular stage shows, featuring dancers, stilt walkers, psychedelic lighting and projections.
Best known for song Silver Machine, which reached #3 in the UK Singles Chart in 1972, they achieved another Top 40 hit with Urban Guerrilla. The group released their self-titled debut album in 1970, and have since released 30 albums, their last being Into The Woods in 2017.
Hawkwind announced a one-off show at the London Palladium in November, but having sold this out already, the band have added six new shows to their autumn tour plans due to demand. Along with vocals from Arthur Brown on selected dates, for the first time in their career, the band will be accompanied by a live orchestra for their new concept show, In Search of Utopia - Infinity and Beyond!
