Heaven 17 is a English new wave synthpop band from Sheffield, consisting of Glenn Gregory and
Formed in 1980, after Ian Craig Marsh and Martyn Ware left The Human League, and teamed up with Glenn Gregory. They released their debut album, ‘Penthouse and Pavement’, in 1981, which reached #14 in the UK Albums Chart. Their next album, ‘The Luxury Gap’, released in 1983, performed even better, hitting #4 and 1984’s, ‘How Men Are’, also did well, reaching #12. They’ve gone on to release several more albums, their latest being ‘Naked as Advertised’ in 2008.
The band have headlined their own tours and shows around the country. In autumn of 2014, they hit the road for 'The Tour Of Synthetic Delights', which came round again in 2017 for their ’The Tour of Synthetic Delights 2’ co-headline tour with Blancmange.
In 2018, Heaven 17 are set to play a show at Uttoxeter Racecourse in May, as part of the Live after Racing series.
