Christie Hennessy was an Irish folk singer-songwriter from County Kerry.

After leaving school at a young age, Hennessy worked as a labourer before writing his first song at the age of 23. Despite being unable to read or write due to severe dyslexia, he went on to be discovered by John Peel, and released over nine albums in his time, from his debut self titled record in 1972 through to his latest, a posthumous release of 'A Friend of Mine', in 2009.

Hennessy passed away in 2007, but now in 2018, his children Amber, Hermione and Tim will perform as Hennessy to celebrate the incredible life and career of their father, one of Ireland’s most loved performers.
