Iggy Azalea is an Australian hip-hop and dance music producer hailing from Australia, living in America. Born in 1990, she moved to the States at age 16, and pursued a career as a rapper, having fallen in love with the hip-hop genre in her youth.
She would go on to make a name for herself thanks to YouTube freestyles and videos that went viral worldwide, introducing her to countless fans before she had even signed a deal. Coming in to contact with producers and music big-wigs, she would start releasing her music in around 2011. Since then, she hasn’t really put down the mic - despite label issues and a handful of problems, she would earn her debut LP ‘The New Classic’ in 2014, via Island Def Jam and Virgin EMI. She would go on to perform gigs worldwide, including a big headline show at London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire and an appearance at the Summertime Ball, too.
