Iggy Pop—real name James Newell Osterberg, Jr.—is a singer-songwriter and musician from Muskegon, Michigan.
Starting his music career in 1960, originally as a drummer, he formed proto-punk icons The Stooges in 1967. He released five albums with the band before eventually venturing into a solo project in 1977. He released his debut solo albums, ‘The Idiot’, and ‘Lust For Life’ that same year. He’s gone on to release a further 16 solo studio albums to date. With a career spanning over 50 years, he’s known for tracks such as China Girl, Nightclubbing, Lust for Life, Real Wild Child, and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His most recent album, 'Every Loser', arrived in January 2023. Iggy Pop has announced a huge show at Crystal Palace Park on July 1, 2023, where he'll be joined by Blondie and Generation Sex for what's billed as his Dog Day Afternoon.
