Zappa Plays Zappa Returns To UK This November & Tickets

To follow up on the success of last year's ‘Apostrophe’ UK tour, Dweezil Zappa and his “rocking teenage combo” have agreed to return to the UK this November to perform a special selection of tracks celebrating the seminal decades of his father's back catalogue. ‘The Decades Tour’ will feature material from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s and include music from classic Zappa albums such as ‘Joe’s Garage’, ‘We’re Only in It for the Money’, 'Weasels Ripped My Flesh' ‘Freak Out’ and ‘Hot Rats’.

The new shows will also include a selection of Frank Zappa’s iconic material which Dweezil has never performed before.

In addition, there will be a special limited VIP pass available to purchase with show tickets. Fans will gain access to part of the band’s sound-check before the show, watch the band making their final preparations and then join Dweezil for an exclusive ‘meet and greet’ session.

Commenting on the UK Decades Tour, Dweezil Zappa said: “We love
performing in the UK. The audiences have always been so appreciative of the efforts we have made to bring my father's music back to the live stage. We are working extra hard on new live material to world premiere and are planning a few surprises for the show. It’ll be an exciting challenge for all of us.”

This new Decades Tour follows on from the success of the 2011 ‘Apostrophe’ tour and Dweezil’s two CD releases on UK label Fantom Records - 'Live In The Moment' (a double CD featuring improvised guitar solos from past tours) and the 'F.O.H.' double CD featuring a collection of raw and unedited live performances of a selection of Zappa songs performed by Dweezil and his Zappa Plays Zappa band.

Dweezil and Zappa Plays Zappa have performed to audiences worldwide since 2006, receiving rave reviews as they go. Dweezil, who is accompanied by a host of hand-picked young musical talent from around the world, brings his father’s musical legacy to life on stage and is the only official act to do so since Frank Zappa’s death in 1993.

Tue 24 Oct 2017
It’s difficult to overstate how refreshing And So I Watch You From Afar (or ASIWYFA) were when they arrived on the scene nearly a decade ago. Looking back now, guitar-led instrumentalists took up scant space in a busy alt-rock market, but reading indie blogs at the time led you to believe every other band was peddling the same drawn out, dynamics-based sound. Then, out of nowhere, this noisy wee quartet from Northern Ireland came along to blow the bloody doors off.
