Foo Fighters Star Dave Grohl Rejoins Queens Of The Stone Age For New Album

Rock and roll bigwigs Queens of the Stone Age have confirmed that Foo Fighters star Dave Grohl will return to his role as drummer for the band’s brand new album, following the departure of Joey Castillo, who’s worked with the band for past 10 years.

ImageGrohl’s arrival in the studio has left thousands of fans extremely happy that the sticksman - who fronts world-famous outfit the Foo Fighters - is back behind the drums for the first time since 2002 (he even features on their smash hit ‘No One Knows’, as well as in it’s video)

The news was confirmed via a pic on the band’s Facebook page, which features Dave’s name on the drum channel of a mixing desk alongside Dean (Fertita), ‘Shoes’ (Michael Shuman), ‘J Ho’ (Josh Homme), and ‘Triz’ (Troy Van Leeuwen). The picture has been ‘liked’ over 16,000 times since it was posted, and has received countless comments that indicate fans are more than happy - you can check it out on the above right.

It’s unknown whether Grohl will be sticking with the band long term or whether he’s just helping out for the currently-untitled new record (due out in 2013), and it’s also not clear whether he’ll be performing with them live - with many pondering if he’ll be behind the kit at the band’s set at Download Festival 2013.

Stay with Stereoboard for future news on Queens of the Stone Age - we’ll let you know Grohl’s future with the band as soon as it surfaces.
