Interpol are an American alternative rock band from New York City, New York, consisting of Paul Banks, Sam Fogarino and Daniel Kessler.
Formed in 1997, the band released their debut album, 'Turn on the Bright Lights', in 2002, followed by their breakthrough album, ‘Antics’ in 2004, which hit #15 in the Billboard Hot 200. ‘Our Love to Admire’ came out in 2007, followed by a self-titled release in 2010 and their last album, ‘El Pintor’, was released in 2014, and they celebrated the 15th anniversary of their debut with UK and European tour in 2017. Interpol returned with a new LP ’Marauder’ in summer 2018 and will support it with a world tour, stopping in the UK, Ireland, US, Australia, and Europe throughout 2018 and 2019. When Interpol burst onto the scene with ‘Turn on the Bright Lights’ in 2002 their music felt incredibly fresh: melancholic New York indie-punk with a look and feel that screamed libido and intellectualism in equal parts.

Having dispensed with the anagrams following the release of the excellent ‘El Pintor’ four years ago, Interpol’s sixth album ‘Marauder’ is the subject of a production shift. Not since 2007’s ‘Our Love To Admire’ have they employed an outside producer, so it’s somewhat surprising to find Dave Fridmann (Mercury Rev, the Flaming Lips) at the helm here.
