International Teachers of Pop are a "nerd-disco" project from the founders, producers and co-writers of the Moonlandingz, Adrian Flanagan and Dean Honer with vocalist Leonore Wheatley of the Soundcarriers and Whyte Horses.
The group formed in early 2018 at a Circuit Bending workshop in South Yorkshire. Ater their debut performance in a cave by invite from Jarvis Cocker, and a live session on BBC Radio 6 Music, International Teachers signed a singles and album deal for releasing music on their own imprint Despolate Spools, and their debut single Age of the Train was born in July 2018. The band's self-titled debut album arrived in 2019, which they followed up the next year with 'Pop Gossip'.
