Jamie Foxx—real name Eric Marlon Bishop—is an actor, comedian, singer-songwriter and record producer from Terrell, Texas.

He made his film debut in the 1992 comedy Toys, and began his commercial musical endeavours in 1994 with the release of his album 'Peep This.' Although already a highly established actor, he became increasingly recognised as a musician after featuring on Twista's Slow Jamz in 2003, and on Kanye West's Gold Digger in 2005, which both hit #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. He has since released a total of five solo albums, with his most recent, 'Hollywood: A Story of a Dozen Roses,' arriving in 2015. He also won a Grammy for his collaboration with T-Pain, Blame It, in 2010.

An acclaimed actor, he has been awarded some of the highest honours in film and television, winning an Academy Award for Best Actor In A Leading Role in 2005 for his portrayal of the title character in Ray, as well as a further nomination that year for Best Supporting Actor in Collateral. He has also been awarded a BAFTA, Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award and Critics Choice Award among many others.
