Jim James is an American singer-songwriter and musician best known as the main man in rockers My Morning Jacket. Born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1978, he had been interested in the music scene since the early '90s, and found success with My Morning Jacket towards the end of the decade.

Since the late '00s, James has been putting out solo material too, from his 2009 EP 'Tribute To', two his first two solo albums, 'Regions of Light and Sound of God', and his most recent, 2016's 'Eternally Even'. In June 2018, he returned with his next record, 'Uniform Distortion', which he supported on tour in the US.
