John Illsley is an English blues-rock singer-songwriter and musician hailing from Leicester. Born in 1949, he’s perhaps best known as bassist of Dire Straits, and is also a talented guitarist.
Illsley also boasts a successful solo career and since his first ever LP ‘Never Told a Soul’ hit shelves in 1984, the multi-award-winner has released two more solo records and a pair of albums alongside Cunla and Greg Pearle.
