John Mayall is an English blues and rock singer-songwriter and musician from Macclesfield.
Starting his music career in 1956, he has played alongside some of the greatest musicians of the 20th century including Sonny Boy Williamson, T Bone Walker, John Lee Hooker, Freddy King, Albert King, Brownie McGhee, Sonny Terry, Otis Rush and Buddy Guy. He has released over 60 albums, including his debut ‘John Mayall Plays John Mayall’, released in 1965, ‘Bare Wires’, released in 1968, which hit #3 in the UK Albums Chart, and his latest release, ‘Talk About That’, which was released in early 2017.
