John Smith is an English folk singer-songwriter and musician from Devon.

He has headlined his own shows and tours, as well as toured with the likes of Iron and Wine, James Yorkston, John Martyn, David Gray, Jools Holland, Gil Scott-Heron, Lisa Hannigan and Ben Howard.

He released his debut album, ‘The Fox and the Monk’, in 2006, which was followed by 'Map or Direction', in 2009, 'Eavesdropping' in 2011, 'Great Lakes', in 2013 and 'Headlong', in June 2017.

Since, he's played guitar on Jan Baez's latest record, and played at Cambridge Folk Festival and End of the Road.

He's picked up over 10 million Spotify streams, and released a new album, 'Hummingbird', in October 2018 through his own Commoner Records. He'll support the release with an extensive UK and Ireland tour throughout October and November, then again in February 2019.
