Jose Carreras is a Spanish tenor singer based in Barcelona, particularly known for his performances in the operas of Verdi and Puccini. Born in 1946, he is today recognised as one of the notable opera singers of his time, having made his debut aged just 11 years old!
He went on to form a career that encompassed over 60 roles, performing in the world's leading opera houses and in numerous recordings. He gained fame with a wider audience as one of the Three Tenors along with Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti in a series of mass concerts that began in 1990 and continued until 2003.
Carreras is also known for his humanitarian work as the president of the José Carreras International Leukaemia Foundation, which he established following his own recovery from the disease in 1988.
Both as part of the Three Tenors and on his own, Carreras continues to perform to this day. He has now announced a London show in June 2019 as part of his Farewell Tour. Catch him live by checking out the tour dates and concert ticket information below on Stereoboard.
