Julia Biel is a self taught singer, songwriter, pianist and guitarist who blends her old-school jazz style vocals with element of 1960s psychedelia, electronica-imbued acoustics, electric guitars and epic cinematic arrangements.
Her debut record, 'Not Alone', dropped in 2005, and she's released a handful since, too - the EP 'Nobody Loves You Like I Do' in 2014, 'Love Letters and Other Missiles' in 2015, a remix EP 'Licence to Be Cruel' the same year, and her latest self titled album in February 2018. Julia Biel won the title Perrier Vocalist of the Year in 2000, in 2006 was nominated in the 'Rising Star' category of the BBC Jazz Awards, and was nominated in the Best Jazz Act category in the MOBO Awards and the Urban Music Awards in 2015. Biel has also released music with Polar Bear, Soothsayers, and many more. Now, Julia Biel has confirmed a UK tour throughout April supporting the new record.
