Kaiser Chiefs are an English indie rock band from Leeds, West Yorkshire, consisting of front man Ricky Wilson, guitarist Andrew ‘Whitey’ White, bassist Simon Rix, keyboardist Nick ‘Peanut’ Baines, and new drummer Vijay Mistry.
Formed in 2000, the band released their debut album, ‘Employment’, in 2005, which reached #2 in the UK Albums Chart and featured hit singles such as Oh My God, I Predict a Riot, and Everyday I Love You Less and Less. Their second album, ‘Yours Truly, Angry Mob’, performed even better reaching the #1 spot in the chart and contained their first #1 single Ruby. Both the albums, ‘Off with Their Heads’ and ‘The Future Is Medieval’ were Top Ten hits, but it was their fifth and latest album, ‘Education, Education, Education & War’, that brought them back to the top of the chart. The band unveiled their latest album, ‘Stay Together’, on October 7, 2016, which they toured around UK arenas in early 2017, as well as more spring summer outdoor headline slots.
The band has performed on some of the world’s biggest stages at massive venues and festivals, including Reading and Leeds, the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony, V Festival, and Isle of Wight. They have also toured across the UK, USA, and Europe and shared the stage with the likes of Green Day and All Time Low.
Kaiser Chiefs have revealed details of their new album plus a UK tour for early 2019. Following that, the band have announced they'll celebrate 100 years of Leeds United Football Club with a massive show at Elland Road Stadium in June, with support from The Vaccines and The Sherlocks.
