Made up of trumpet player and band leader Sheila Maurice-Grey, Cassie Kinoshi on alto sax, Richie Seivwright on trombone, guitarist Oscar Jerome, keyboardist Yohan Kebede, Mutale Chashi on bass, Onome Edgeworth helming percussion and Ayo Salawu on drums, in additionto a whole host of friends, the highlife band are a force to be reckoned with.
Inspired by the greats of West Africa, Fela Kuti, Ebo Taylor and Tony Allen, the band released their debut single Uman in 2019, but have been gigging asmall shows across London for years, making a name for themselves.
