The song also went 16x Platinum, is the most certified song in RIAA history, and has received numerous awards, including two Grammys from 11 nominations. Following further successful singles, he released his debut album, 'Montero', in September 2021. Lil Nas X will headline Switzerland's Montreux Jazz Festival and Italy's Lucca Summer Festival in July 2023, following slots at Poland's Open'er Festival and Roskilde Festival in Denmark in June, and Alabama's Hangout Music Festival in May.
