Maria Callas was one of the most renowned and influential opera singers of the 20th century. Her repertoire ranged from classical opera seria to the bel canto operas of Donizetti, Bellini and Rossini and further, to the works of Verdi and Puccini, and, in her early career, to the music dramas of Wagner.

She made her professional debut with the Royal Opera of Athens in Boccaccio, and soon won her first major role with Tosca. Eventually garnering international acclaim, Callas made her Italian opera debut at the Verona Arena in 1947, later followed by her 1954 American debut in Norma. During the 1950s, Callas lost a substantial amount of weight, triggering vocal strain. The quality and frequency of her performances waned. On September 16, 1977, Callas died in Paris of a heart attack.

In 2018, Callas will confirm her immortality with a brand new show, Callas in Concert, a triumphant event that brings the beloved opera singer to life on the stage via hologram, singing to the accompaniment of a full live orchestra.
