Martin Bayfield is an actor, broadcaster and former rugby player from Bedfordshire.

Leaving his job as a police officer to pursue his rugby career, he first appeared on the England rugby squad in 1991, with whom he won the 1992 Five Nations Grand Slam. He was also part of the 1993 British Lions tour to New Zealand and the 1995 World Cup squad, before retiring in 1998 due to a neck injury.

Since his retirement from rugby, he is well-known for his beloved role as half-giant Hagrid in the Harry Potter film series, working as Robbie Coltrane's body and stunt double and as a young Rubeus Hagrid in Harry Potter And The Chamber of Secrets. He has also appeared in several other films, and has worked as a presenter for sporting events including the NFL, World's Strongest Man, the Rugby World Cups, as well as programmes such as BBC's Crimewatch. In 2018, he placed third in the BBC series Celebrity MasterChef.
