Maximo Park are an English alternative rock band from Newcastle, consisting of frontman Paul Smith, guitarist Duncan Lloyd, bassist Archis Tiku, keyboard-player Lukas Wooller, and drummer Tom English,
Formed in 2000, the band signed to Warp Records in 2005 and released their debut album, 'A Certain Trigger', which was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. They followed with ‘Our Earthly Pleasures’ in 2007, which hit #2 in the UK Albums Chart. Their third album, ‘Quicken the Heart’, debuted at #6 in the chart, and was followed by ‘The National Health’, in 2012. Their last album was ‘Too Much Information’ and was released in 2014 and hit #7 in the chart. The band are set to release their latest album, ‘Risk To Exist’ in April 2017.
They have headlined their own shows and tours and are known for their energetic and highly-rated live shows with suit-wearing singer Smith a talented crowd-controller. They played a series of UK shows in winter 2015 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut album, ’A Certain Trigger’, and played a huge show at Newcastle’s Times Square in July 2016.
Their latest album, ’Risk To Exist’ was released in 2017, followed by a headline slot at Live At Leeds.

Prior to the release of their 2014 album ‘Too Much Information’, Maxïmo Park’s lead vocalist Paul Smith said: “Our lyrics and our music will never be too-cool-for-school - we are an emotional band even if it might be too much information for some.” Never has a truer word been spoken.
