Meat Puppets are an American rock band from Phoenix, Arizona. The group's original line up consisted of Curt and Cris Kirkwood, along with Derrick Bostrom on drums.
Although starting as a punk-rock band, like most labelmates on SST Record they established their own unique style, blending punk with country and psychedelia. Meat Puppets' self-titled debut album dropped in 1982, followed up 'Meat Puppets II' in 1984, 'Up On The Sun' in 1985 and 'Out My Way' in 1986. Six more albums followed, including their most successful 'Too High to Die' in 1994, until their hiatus in 1995. They returned for more albums in 2001, before another breakup until 2007, when they released' Rise To Your Knees', followed by 2009's 'Sewn Together', 2011's 'Lollipop' and 2013's 'Rat Farm'. Their latest LP, 'Dusty Notes', arrived in 2019. Meat Puppets will play a headline London show in September 2021.
