The Membranes formed in Blackpool, England back in 1978. They began playing classic bass-driven northern post-punk and were part of the same scene that produced Joy Division, Bauhaus, the Fall, Sisters Of Mercy, and Cabaret Voltaire, all inspired by the punk explosion of 1977.
The band put out their debut album, 'Crack House', in 1983, and their latest LP, 'What Nature Gives...Nature Takes Away', arrived in 2019.
