Metal Church is an American heavy metal band from San Francisco, California, currently consisting of Kurdt Vanderhoof, alongside Mike Howe, Steve Unger, Jeff Plate and Rick Van Zandt.

Formed in 1980, the band released their debut self-titled album in 1984, and released a further four albums, and toured the USA extensively, before splitting in 1994. The band reformed in 1998, releasing the album, ‘Masterpeace’ in 1999. They released their eleventh album, ‘XI’, in 2016.
