Motor Ace are an alternative rock and post-grunge band from Melbourne, Australia. Formed in 1998 out of the remains of another band called Snowblind, Motor Ace is made up of Patrick Robertson, Damian Birchall, Matt Balfe and Dave Ong.
Part of a wave of successful young Australian acts signed to Festival Mushroom Records in 1999, the band began recording their debut self titled EP the same year. Their first full length, 'Five Star Laundry' dropped in 2001 and hit number four in the Australian charts. Their second, 2002's 'Shoot This' soared to the number one spot, while their third album 'Animal' in 2005 reached number 21. The band broke up later that year after farewell shows in Melbourne and Perth. Motor Ace now have have tour plans in Australia in spring 2019 to celebrate their 20th anniversary.
