New Order is an English rock band hailing from Manchester, currently consisting of Bernard Sumner, Stephen Morris, Gillian Gilbert, Phil Cunningham, and Tom Chapman, with Peter Hook leaving the band in 2007.
Formed in 1980, by members of Joy Division, the band blended new wave and electronic music with rock and post-punk, and evolved into one of the most critically acclaimed and highly influential bands of the 1980s. Their 1983 hit, 'Blue Monday', is the best-selling 12-inch single of all time.
The band has released 10 albums: their debut, 1981’s ‘Movement’, followed by ‘Power, Corruption & Lies’ (1983), ‘Low-Life’ (1985), ‘Brotherhood’(1986), ‘Technique’ (1989), ‘Republic’ (1993), ‘Get Ready’ (2001), ‘Waiting for the Sirens' Call (2005), and ‘Lost Sirens’ (2013). In September 2015, they returned with their first album in ten years, 'Music Complete'.
New Order play a show at Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl in July 2016, following their series of US shows earlier in the year, as well as a show at the Royal Albert Hall for Teenage Cancer Trust. Catch them live by checking out the dates and ticket information below!
