Ocean Colour Scene are an English indie pop band from Moseley, Birmingham, currently consisting of Simon Fowler, Steve Cradock, and Oscar Harrison.
Formed in 1989, the band released their debut self-titled album in 1992, but it was their second album, ‘Moseley Shoals’, released in 1992, that gave them critical and commercial success, hitting #2 in the UK Albums Chart. ‘Marchin' Already’, released in 1997, followed on from this success, reaching the top spot in the chart. ‘One from the Modern’, released in 1999 and ‘Mechanical Wonder ‘, which hit the shelves in 2001, also appeared in the Top Ten. The band released their latest and tenth album, ‘Painting’, in 2013.
The band have headlined their own shows and tours across the UK, as well as having supported the likes of Paul Weller and Oasis at their Knebworth House shows, and appearances at festivals such as Electric Picnic, Wickerman and V. 2015 saw the band celebrating their 25th anniversary with a series of acoustic gigs across the UK, while in 2016 they celebrated the 20th anniversary of 'Moseley Shoals' in 2016 with UK shows, and recorded a live album from The Hydro in 2017.
Ocean Colour Scene have announced August shows at Wolverhampton Racecourse and Sheffield's Don Valley Bowl. Then, they're set to headline Star Shaped Festival in September, and embark on a headline tour of the UK in December.
