Oleanna is a play by David Mamet that examines the damage caused by excessive political correctness and the abuse of language.
Set on an American university campus, a female student files a claim of sexual harassment against a college professor after a seemingly innocent conversation, setting the foundations for a tale of pupil power and student revenge. The play premiered in 1992 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and since then has been performed across the world and in 1994, was even adapted into a film. After performing in Bath through 2019, the show returned to London in 2021 for the first time since 2004, directed by Lucy Bailey and starring Jonathan Slinger and Call The Midwife's Rosie Sheehy.
