Paul Brady tour dates and tickets
Paul Brady is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, and is one of Ireland’s most enduringly popular artists. His broad interest in swing, jazz, rock n roll, motown, and influenced by heroes Jerry Lee Lewis, Winifred Atwell and Fats Domino all had an impact on the music Brady was to create, which ultimately became traditional Irish songs.

During college in Dublin, he joined a succession of RnB and soul bands including The Inmates, The Kult, Rootzgroop and Rockhouse, who covered the likes of Ray Charles, James Brown, Junior Walker, Ike and Tina Turner and blues legends like Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf and Chuck Berry.

By the end of the 70s, Brady's popularity was well established, and he had a reputation as one of Ireland’s best interpreters of traditional songs. His versions of great ballads like Arthur McBride and The Lakes Of Pontchartrain were definitive and are still being asked for by audiences today.

Brady returned from new York to Dublin in 1974 to join Planxty, an Irish folk band of the early ’70’s which launched his solo career. He then teamed up with Andy Irvine and produced an album loved at the time and still sought after today.

His first solo effort, the acclaimed folk album 'Welcome Here Kind Stranger' in 1978 won the Melody maker Folk Album of the year, and a string of albums followed, including 'Hard Station' in True For You' in 1983,'Back To The Centre' in 1985, 'Primitive Dance' in 1987, 'Trick Or Treat' in 1991 and 'Spirits Colliding' in 1995, most of which were remastered in the late 1990s.

A new album ensued in the form of 2000's 'Oh What A World', featuring collaborations with Carole King, Will Jennings, Ronan Keating, Conner Reeves and Mark Hudson. It has been critically hailed as one of his best records.

Fast forward to recent years, and a double CD ‘Dancer In The Fire, A Paul Brady Anthology’ was released in 2012 featuring several re-mixes, hidden gems and previously unreleased recordings.

Theo Katzman and Paul Brady will tour Ireland together in June 2019. Catch him live by checking out the tour dates and concert ticket information below on Stereoboard.
