Penguin Cafe is an English chamber jazz and folk outfit hailing from London. Formed in 2009 by Arthur Jeffes, it is a successor to the infamous Penguin Cafe Orchestra which was fronted by Arthur’s late father Simon. It also consists of a range of talented multi-instrumentalists, ranging from ‘luminaries from The Royal College of Music to members of bands such as Suede and Gorillaz’.
Despite not consisting of any PCO members, and announcing themselves in their own right, Penguin Cafe can often be seen ripping through performances of classic PCO tracks, though they do boast collections of their own music too - their debut album ‘A Matter of Life...’ dropped in 2010. In August 2014, they hit London’s Roundhouse to support latest LP ‘The Red Book’. Find your tickets below!
