Refused are a long-running punk band from Sweden, currently consisting of Dennis Lyxzén, David Sandström, Kristofer Steen and Magnus Flagge.

Formed in 1991, the band found fame in the ever-growing hardcore scene of the 1990s, and released five EPs and three studio albums; ‘This Just Might Be...the Truth’ in 1994, ‘Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent’ in 1996, and ‘The Shape of Punk to Come’ in 1998, as well as destroying hundreds of venues with their intense live shows and gigs.

After a fiery split in 1998, the band seemed dead and gone forever, until 14 years later, it was announced that they’d be returning to the hardcore scene once again. The band released their fourth album, ‘Freedom’, in June 2015 on Epitaph Records, and played London’s Electric Ballroom in December 2015.

Refused played live shows across the UK for March 2016, before heading Stateside for a tour in May and June, followed by shows in Australia in early 2017. May 2018 saw them releasing brand new EP, 'Servants of Death'.

After hitting the road with Thrice for a co-headlining UK and European tour in October 2019, Refused tour the US and Canada in 2020. Catch them live by checking out the tour dates and ticket information on Stereoboard below.

Refused “Well, I grew up as an un-political character in a small town in the north of Sweden,” Refused frontman Dennis Lyxzén recalls. “I had one of those families where you didn’t talk about politics at all. I discovered punk and that changed my perception of everything in the world around me. It radicalised me.”
