Rob Newman is a British comedian, author and political activist from London.
Newman first found fame as an impressionist with The Mary Whitehouse Experience before forming a successful comedy partnership with David Baddiel in the early 1990s, becoming the first comedians to sell out Wembley arena. The duo split, with Baddiel continuing his career and Newman mostly disappearing from public interest. He reappeared with solo working marking a clear social conscience and anti-establishment views, including covering anti-globalisation protests. He has been politically active with Reclaim the Streets, the Liverpool Dockers, Indymedia and People's Global Action.
He has written four novels: Dependence Day in 1994, Manners in 1998, The Fountain at the Centre of the World in 2003, and The Trade Secret in 2013, as well as The Entirely Accurate Encyclopaedia of Evolution in 2015, based on his stand-up show "Robert Newman's New Theory of Evolution", and Neuropolis in April 2017.
In 2018, Newman embarks on his Total Eclipse of Descartes UK Tour. Catch him live by checking out the tour dates and concert ticket information below on Stereoboard.
