Runrig is a Scottish Celtic rock outfit hailing from the Isle of Skye. Formed in 1973, it currently consists of original members Rory Macdonald, Calum Macdonald, and Malcolm Jones alongside Iain Bayne, Bruce Guthro, and Brian Hurren. Known for their interesting take on folk and Celtic rock, they've found fame across Europe and in North America.
Known for their live shows as much as their heavy studio work, in 2013, they celebrated their 40th anniversary. Released in 2016, 'The Story' is the band's 14th and final LP. In September 2017 Runrig announced their split, with their final collection of shows planned in London, Manchester, and Stirling, Scotland in 2018. Edinburgh Castle Esplanade. on July 22 2023
Totally brilliant!!.Saw the fabulous Runrig at Edinburgh Castle last night.They are an amazing group of musicians.The Castle rocked and so did we.Still remembering walking out of the stadium at the end and a small hum of Olden glory riding to a full crescendo with everyone joining in as we left very emotional,please come back soon and sort 2017 dates.
