Starting his music career in 1991, he initially gained popularity as the guitarist and songwriter for alt-country band Whiskeytown, launching his solo career when the band disbanded in 2000. He released his debut album, ‘Heartbreaker', in 2000, which was followed by his breakthrough release, ‘Gold’, in 2001. He has released 16 studio albums, the latest being ‘Prisoner’, in February 2017. Ryan Adams has toured all over the world, including in North America, Australia, the UK, Ireland and Europe, and now has more UK and Ireland tour plans in spring 2019.
