Sage Francis is an American rapper and spoken word artist hailing from Miami, Florida. Born in 1976, he’s been involved with rap and spoken word poetry - as well as battle formats like slam poetry - from the mid ‘90s, though he got his big break after winning an MC battle in 2000 and releasing 9/11-related track Makeshift Patriot the following year, becoming an online hit.
