The San Antonio Spurs are an American basketball team hailing from San Antonio, Texas. Established in 1967 as Dallas Chaparrals, and later the Texas Chaparrals, they would become the Spurs as we know them today in 1973.

The Spurs are one of the most successful teams in NBA's recent history. In their past 25 seasons, they have made the playoffs an incredible 24 times, in a period which saw them win the NBA Championships five times, clinch six Western Conference titles, and 15 of their 20 division titles.

Spurs fans had plenty to cheer about in 2014 - that's when they won their fifth Championship, having beat the Miami Heat in the Finals, a victory made all the sweeter due to the fact that they had lost to the Heat in the previous season's Finals.
