Shirley Collins is a British folk singer-songwriter from Hastings, Sussex.
Starting her music career in the 1950s, she was a part of the English Folk Revival, after meeting Alan Lomax. She released her debut solo album, ‘Sweet England’ in 1958, and went on to release a further seven albums, her latest being ‘Lodestar’, in November 2016. She also released several albums with her sister Dolly Collins, including ‘Anthems in Eden’ in 1969, as well as working with the Albion Country Band, The Young Tradition, Etchingham Steam Band and Davy Graham. The Roundhouse in London presents a series of In The Round concerts in January, including British folk singer Shirley Collins on the line up.
