Sir Was is the pseudonym of Swedish musician Joel Wastberg from Gothernburg. He studied jazz saxophone at a Folkhogskola in Southern Sweden at the age of 18.
His debut album, 'Digging A Tunnel', dropped in March 2017, and was picked by Lauren Lavern at BBC 6 Music as one of their favourite albums of the year. The features a range of instruments from bagpipes to electronica, and each instrument was played and recorded by Joel himself. His debut solo tour took place in February 2018, and he follows this up with UK dates and March and May!
