Slash - real name Saul Hudson - is an English musician and songwriter born in London, growing up in Stoke-on-Trent, and finally settling in Los Angeles. Born in 1965, he’s considered one of the world’s best guitarist, and is probably one of the most instantly recognisable too!
Making his name alongside Axl Rose in the legendary rock band Guns N' Roses, who dominated the 1980s and 90s rock scene and went on to sell more 100 million albums across the world, he would inspire an uncountable number of aspiring musicians to pick up a guitar and start shredding.
Following the bitter break-up of Guns N' Roses, Slash has forged a hugely successful solo career. Following short spells in his own band Slash's Snakepit as well as playing in supergroup Velvet Revolver, he would release his eponymous debut solo record in 2010. The album was a huge success, gaining worldwide critical and commercial acclaim.
The top hat wearing, Les-Paul smashing, frizzy-haired beast that is Slash notched up another LP in 2012 with ‘Apocalyptic Love’, and returned with his acclaimed third, 'World on Fire', in September 2014.
In September 2018, Slash unleashes his brand new album, 'Living the Dream', which sees him collaborating with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators. The group tour North America in September and October, then hit Australia and New Zealand in January, before the UK and Europe in February 2019 and a headline slot at Belsonic. There’s something bittersweet about this excellent third album from Slash, Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators. ‘Living The Dream’ is bursting at the seams with old school, anthemic rock ‘n’ roll of the highest calibre, but at the same time it’s hard to shake the feeling that the person behind such exhilarating music and exceptional guitar work is the very last of a dying breed.
