Sofie Hagen is a stand-up comedian, author, podcaster, activist and blogger from Denmark, now based in London.
In 2013, Time Out identified Hagen as a One To Watch, and they went on the same year to win the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year – the first non-male person to do so. In August 2015, Hagen took their debut full-length show Bubblewrap to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The show was favourably received, with five and four star reviews from various press. The show won the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer and in November that year Virago Press published their essay in the collection I Call Myself a Feminist. They are also well-known for their popular debut book, Happy Fat: Taking Up Space in a World That Wants to Shrink You. Sofie Hagan will take the Fat Jokes Tour across the UK in autumn 2022.
