Space are an indie-rock band hailing from Liverpool. Forming in 1993, the band saw considerable success in the mid 1990s, and scored Top 20 singles in Me and You Versus the World, Neighbourhood, Avenging Angels, Female of the Species, The Ballad of Tom Jones, and Dark Clouds.
Their debut album was entitled 'Spiders' in 1996, which peaked at #5 in the UK Albums Chart, later going platinum with an estimated 800,000 copies sold between 1996 and 1998.
Next the band released 'Tin Planet' in 1998. After continuing to release through the millennium, the band decided to call it a day in 2005, until 2011, when inspired by the 2009 death of their long-time drummer and friend Andy Parle, they band decided to reform. They toured the world throughout 2013 and beyond to celebrate their 20th anniversary.
'Suburban Rock n Roll' came to our ears in 2004, but the album was not a great success as public interest had waned, and promotion for the record was almost non-existent. Despite this, Space released their fifth album ‘Attack of the Mutant 50ft Kebab’ in 2014, their first material for ten years, and 'Strange World' in 2016. They have since released a handful of 'Best Of' and 'Greatest Hits' albums.
