Stephen Malkmus is an American rock musican from Portland, Oregon. Well known as the front man of the rock band Pavement, he also embarked on a successful solo career at the turn of the millennium. He performs both as a solo artist and with his other band, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks.
He released an eponymous album in 2001 via Matador. Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks would go on to put out 'Pig Lib' in 2003. He has since put out a further five records with the Jicks, the latest being 2018's 'Sparkle Hard'. Malkmus dropped 'Groove Denied' in March 2019, his first since 2001 without the Jicks. His latest record, 'Traditional Techniques', landed in March 2020. Stephen Malkmus has rescheduled his North American tour dates to spring 2021 in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
