Steve Earle is an American rock, country and folk singer-songwriter, record producer, author and actor.

Earle began his career as a songwriter in Nashville, and released his first EP in 1982, thought it was his debut full length, 'Guitar Town', that became his breakthrough record in 1986, hitting #1 in the country music charts, reaching Gold in the us and Platinum selling in Canada.

Since then, Earle has released 15 other studio albums and received three Grammy awards. His songs have been recorded by the likes of legends Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Travis Tritt, Vince Gill, Patty Loveless, Shawn Colvin, Ian Stuart Donaldson and Emmylou Harris. He's also appeared in film and television, and has written a novel, a play, and a book of short stories. He's collaborated extensively too - with the likes of Patti Smith, Joan Baez, Sheryl Crow, The Pogues and many more.
