Steve Vai is a guitarist and singer-songwriter from Carle Place, New York.
Starting his music career in 1978 as a session and touring musician, he released his debut solo album, 'Flex-Able', in 1984. While he continued his session work for artists such as Alcatrazz, David Lee Roth, Whitesnake, Public Image Ltd, Mary J. Blige, Spinal Tap, Alice Cooper, Motörhead and Polyphia, he continued to thrive as a solo artist also, putting out 12 studio records and picking up three Grammys in the process. His latest LP, 'Vai/Gash', arrived in 2023. Steve Vai will team up with Joe Satriani to bring their SatchVai Band project to the UK in June 2025, billed as the Surfing With The Hydra Tour.
