Studio Ghibli is a Japanese animation film studio based in Koganei, Tokyo, Japan.
It is well known for its anime feature films, and has also produced several short films, television commercials, and one TV film. It was founded in June 1985, after the success of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind in 1984. Joe Hisaishi is a conductor and pianist who composes the music for some of the most well-loved Studio Ghibli films, including Ponyo, My Neighbor Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away. Conductor and pianist Joe Hisaishi will celebrate 35 years of Studio Ghibli with two rescheduled London concerts in August 2021.
