Sturgill Simpson is an American country and roots singer-songwriter from Jackson, Kentucky.
Starting his music career in 2004, he formed Sunday Valley, releasing one album, before the band disbanded in 2012. Starting his solo career, he put out his first album, ‘High Top Mountain’, in 2013. He returned the following year with his next LP, ‘Metamodern Sounds in Country Music’, and would follow it up with his latest album, ’A Sailor's Guide to Earth’ in April 2016.
