Swallow the Sun are a Finnish doom metal band and melodic death metal outfit hailing from Jyväskylä. Formed in 2000 and consisting of Juha Raivio, Markus Jämsen, Mikko Kotamäki, Aleksi Munter, Matti Honkonen, and Kai Hahto. They're an internationally renowned band and perform across Europe, in the UK, and across the pond in North America.
Earning a deal with Firebox Records after spending their early years performing live and putting out demos, their debut album 'The Morning Never Came' hit shelves in 2003. This paved the way for a succession of records, pushing them further and further into the limelight. Their latest and seventh album 'When A Shadow Is Forced Into The Light' was released in January 2019. Swallow the Sun have announced a gig at Camden Underworld this May, alongside a handful of US shows and a string of European dates supporting the new record.
