The Boxer Rebellion is an indie rock band from London, consisting of American frontman Nathan Nicholson, Australian guitarist Todd Howe, and English Adam Harrison on bass and drummer Piers Hewitt.
Formed in 2001, the band’s appearance at Glastonbury Festival, led to them to signing with Alan McGee’s Poptones, and they released their debut single, Watermelon, in 2003. Their first, self-titled, EP came out in 2003, followed by their debut album, ‘Exits’, in 2005. Their second album, ‘Union’, came out in 2009 and since then they’ve released three more records; 2011’s ‘Cold Still’ and their last effort, ‘Promises’, which came out in 2013. The band released their fifth album, ‘Ocean By Ocean’, in April 2016.
The Boxer Rebellion have amassed somewhat of a cult following and are often travelling across the world performing from Europe to the USA. They have supported artists such as Lenny Kravitz, Editors, Gary Numan, The Cooper Temple Clause and A Perfect Circle, as well as touring with The Killers and The Raveonettes, and playing South by Southwest Festival.
