The Brew
Oxford Bullingdon on November 2 2015
Okay so I'd not heard of this band, researched a bit and bought tickets. I didn't even know the guy selling the merchandise was in the band. The click was immediate into the first track and it was evident these guys were an undiscovered phenomenon in the UK. The young Jimmy Page presented with such style such skill. The guitar was fantastic, every guitar he chose was exceptional and he bounced like a coiled spring selling his trampoline like riffs to the dazed audience. Then there was a Kurtis surprise, a drummer like no other, a drummer who played amazingly with sticks so when he thre them down we expected to clap and cheer but he threw down the gauntlet. Those sticks hit the stage and he went into overdrive. He belted those drums with his bare hands like his life depended on it. We wanted to clap and cheer but he hadn't finished with us, he teased and played us for 14 minutes. He ran us into the ground with his fast change of tempo and facial expressions which to,d us a story. He meant real business and sold us The Brew like It was something we would never be able to be without. It's in the blood, brew in the blood forever. Amazing!
